I'm trying to decide between these 2 speaker sytem and I would like to know which one is better in your opinion since I don't really have the luxury of auditioning SVS.

Thanks,

I think they both come in @ $1100.00 price point and IMHO the svs package with the pb 10 nsd should kill the other system. The pro 800 has a 8" sub!!;)

While I really like the Def Tech systems, the SVS will probably perform better for the price.

The Definitive tech 8" doesn't sound like an 8", the sound that little sucker puts out is downright amazing. But for the money the SVS is probably better (not from personal experiance, just general understanding)

It looks like SVS got a better sub which makes it more favorable than def tech.

Thanks ALL

To be perfectly honest I've heard the svs system and thought it was fabulous. At that price range it's hard to beat. The sub though is without question the difference in most 5.1 surround systems. If you like the def tech speakers just get a better sub.;)

I'm in the same boat. Can not decide between the def tech pro cinema 1000 (pro sub 1000, pro monitor 1000's, pro center 2000) or the SVS SBS-01 system. Anyone who's heard them both tell me which they'd prefer? Is the differences in sensitivity matter? What about the differences in Frequency Response?
