Would there be any advantage to using the bi amp connection? I have the Monitor Audio Bronze speakers hooked up to the yamaha rxv 1600 and was thinking about giving this a try. Would I hear a difference? Thanks ,Mike

Not likely. Since the speakers would be feeding off the same power supply and capacitors there wouldn't be much difference in overall power. I think they call what you are trying to do a verticle bi-wire, which is a pointless configuration offering no advantage in sound quality or power.

It won't sound any different if that is what you're asking. It might play a little louder, but as Seth mentioned, it is still running off a single power source so I wouldn't expect big things. Using a separate, more powerful amp would at least allow you to actually offload some of the work from the receiver's power supply.

i had mine bi-wired for a little bit. The only cool thing I could do what turn off the woofers or have them play by themselves. Essentially pointless.
