Man I netflixed Alexander (I like history) no wonder it tanked at the theaters!

I just didn't get it, I mean I know the Greeks back then were heavy into butt buddies, but geez give me a break! These guys would go out and kick serious behind (no pun intended) and then in another scene they're crying (and dressed) like chicks in a Michael Buble concert, embroiled in a pansy orgy. Alexander is torn between his lovers, his wife, his mom (yikes)and his horse,(oh yeah he loves his daddy but daddy isn't too touchy feely and wants him to be a "real" man, though his dad was shown in an orgy with another guy and chick at the same time) the movie drags and drags ( again, no pun intended), but the battle scenes are spectacular, though I would have expected more gore (a la Braveheart )The cinematography was first rate, this had a chance at being a really good movie, but it took itself way too seriously and at the end not even the director's cut could save it:mad: .

Maybe if they had casted the Village People and Mel Brooks directed.....nah.
THIS MOVIE IS NOT RECOMMENDED!

I watched this movie last year. My god it is so boring! Watching Queer as Folk has desensitized me to the man-on-man relationships in the film, but even ignoring those... what an insomnia curing pain parade. "Its like Troy, but worse."

Val Kilmer: No more coffee for you before acting!
Angelina Jolie: The Lara Croft accent was unneccesary.
Oliver Stone: Why is he so famous? He did one great movie (JFK), but has made nothing but forgettable crap since. (except for maybe Natural Born Killers. But he hates that movie and doesn't want anything to do with it).

That movie is terrible. I did not like it at all.

As for Troy, I really liked that movie. It has epic quality.

Yeah...

Definately a turd. I bought it for $5 and was very dissapointed, even at that price. It really dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged and dragged...

I thought the director did an awful job. I agree, Oliver Stone made some really good movies, years ago. JFK was really good, natural born killers, Platoon, and Wall Street were all good movies. After those he just seems to be making mostly crap. Could be worse though, try watching Mod Squad some day if you want to see a really bad movie. It makes Alexander seem good.

Hey Seth,

I don't think you'll get your wish! Who can write anything remotely positive on such a waste of film. Troy was better acted, had better writing, and it was enjoyable, cinematography was excellent.

For some ungodly reason I can't seem to get tired of SW3 and Idependence Day, I don't know why.
