Westinghouse 32 or Panasonic 42

I know this is a no brainer but I am trying to keep this as cheap as possible. I am looking at the Westinghouse 32" LCD W3213 for under $500, Toshiba 32" LCD 32HLC56 for $800 and the Panasonic Plasma 42" 42PX60U for $999. I currently have a hi-def CRT but I would like an additional hi-def TV for the basement. The reason for keeping it cheap is I just spent a butt load on another hobby.

Hey Bryguy, in my opinion if you want to save a little money but still end up with a good product, get the Toshiba.
I would stay away from the Westinghouse myself.
I do know that Toshiba stands behind their stuff.
My dad just bought a 42" Toshiba Plamsa HDTV and he loves it.
You pay a little more but it's worth it.

Based on my unofficial wanderings through BB and CC the choice of good displays around the $1k price point seems to be growing rapidly. It will be interesting to see where prices are after Christmas.

Nick250, I have a friend who's been in the electronics business for years and he mentioned that their specials for Christmas start in October and usually go through Christmas and up here in Canada we have boxing day specials which is the day after Christmas but now it's boxing month sales.

My buddy mentioned prices tend to climb back up near the end of January.

It was a no go though, I drove by BB at 6:00pm T-day and there were already forty people in line so I figured I didn't have a chance. I thought maybe there would be a few around midnight or one o'clock but not even close.

With some of the new technology coming out I think I will wait for right after Christmas. I'm looking for something with built in tuners including HD and QAM.

You might want to just put the purchase off until after the "stuper" bowl and I'll bet the prices will be better at that time.

It's a no brainer. The Westy is crap as a TV. Get the Panasonic.
