I bought me a laptop when I was in San Fo, which has a mini DVI output ...
I want to connect the laptop to my LCD tv which has both a DVI/HDMI input and a VGA input ...

which connector is better? (since there are both miniDVI to DVI and miniDVI to VGA connectors available)

There are multiple flavors of DVI: DVI-D (all digital), DVI-A (analog), and DVI-I (either). VGA is always analog.

Which will look better? Who knows...have to try it and see if you can discern any difference. I really don't notice any difference to my LCD computer monitor whether using VGA or DVI, but I am not overly critical when it comes to video in the first place.
