Hey guys, I'm finally getting satellite TV, but here's the thing. My TV only has one 1080i input. It has three component inputs, but two of then are only 480p. Yea, they forgot to tell me that on the product description. Anyway, Now that I have both an Xbox360 and Dish Network [both 1080i] I find my TV lacking in the input department.
Is there such a thing out there as an inexpensive, component video switcher? This (http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/40-814.html) is the cheapest I've found so far. I want either 2x1 or 3x1, [in case I ever use an HD disc player on this TV] but I really don't care as long as it's cheap.
Thanks for any help.
Edit: All I want is component video. No audio, no nothing. Just component video switching. Unless it's dirt cheap.

That's pretty cheap. Wal-Mart might beat that by a bit (I once bought one for switching game systems, before I bought a Pelican, and ultimately ditched it for an HT reciever), but that's a good price.

There is no audio on that, so you may want to try one of these...

I have not used the Philips model pictured, but have heard from someone who did use one for a while and they had no issues with it at all.
Despite the fact that it says '4-way' it really only has 3 sets of component video inputs. It has 4 sets of composite video and s-video inputs.
Anyway - that's a very inexpensive way to go to get both your video and audio switching needs taken care of within a single cheap box.
FYI: This one seems to include a remote! I know nothing about its quality though...

I do believe I bought one of these, with the Philips brand, at Wal-Mart for $20.00. It sure as heck looks like it, anyway.

EDIT: Yes, it IS the same thing, but under the Philips brand. IIWY, I'd hie my hairy buttox to yee local Beste Buye and procure said trinket with the utmost haste.

I know you're looking for a component video switcher, but for a cheap manual HDMI switcher try Monoprice. My Dish ViP211 receiver uses HDMI.

My Dish ViP211 receiver uses HDMI
Right, but my TV doesn't.
Thanks BMX and Mark, if I can't find a lower price at best buy or circuit city, I'll get one off eBay.;)

Brian,
Most receivers these days will switch between 2 or 3 component video inputs. What are you using for audio?

I use coaxial for the dvd, and optical for the satellite and xbox, so I would love to use the component inputs on the reciver, but when I try it though the receiver, the whole screen is all blue with tiny bits of black outline of the picture. But I've only tried 1080i sources, so maybe it only works with 480p. Which doesn't help me anyway. I looked in the manual and it didn't say anything except which color goes into y pr pb, nothing about which resolutions it could use. Which is stupid, it should work with 1080i sources, right?

Some pre/pros and receiver will not switch HD signals. (like my B&K Ref 30)

That's gay that they give you component but not for an HD signal...
