One big sub? or 2 smaller subs?

I am looking at replacing my sony 10 inch sub as I have recently replaced my loudspeakers, centre and receiver and my sub is next in line. I have been advised to match the sub with the Canton Karats M-60 I just purchased. Make sense so far. Now I am also being recommended to purchased 2 ASD-220 to go with it. My only concern is that the ASD-220 has only a 9inch sub. Can I still get room rumbling, nice low bass out of a 9inch? THe price is right as I am getting 50% off as one of the 2 is a floor model and Ive become a preferred customer, but is are there subs out there capable of producing serious bass with a 9inch sub? Even with 2 of them? The specs are listed below to help anyone in answering these questions.

2 subs are always better than one, I use a pair of YST 1500 and find it much better to integrate them into the room.

2 subs give you better integration, as Yamahaluver stated, as well as higher output levels. If the 2 were smaller drivers than the single, like two 8" vs one 10", than you won't have as good low frequency extension. I was just talking with some customers eariler today about this situation. In your case, I don't know how much the 9" differ in extension than the 10" you have, so you might want to look into that. I'm talking about actual, practical bass extension here, not the claim specifications that are provided by the manufacturer. Too often they are inaccurate.

I prefer a single sub in which located at the back of my seat. so you can hear the room shaking and keep some of my friends wondering where the sub actually is. :) my current sub is the Cerwin Vega SW-12B (12" Inch)

I think for the price I'll try it out with the 2 and if I dont like it, return them and try something else. My current Sub is terrible so it'll definitely be better than what I have now.

I have a smaller sub on the rear for that purpose and set my rear speakers to LARGE in speaker management. Good nice shaking.
