I have been looking at wireless whole house music distribution solutions. I think at this point I have narrowed it down to either Sonos or Squeezebox.
Now I am trying to determine the total cost, form factor and quality for the complete setup of both systems so I can finalize my comparison, bur I can't figure that out until I narrow down the speaker choices.
Sonos has an option with a built in amplifier As well as also offering their own speakers, which by Audioholics review are decent but could really use a subwoofer.
With the Squeezebox I would either need speakers to be self-powered or connected to a separate amplifier, (but I don't want a separate amplifier at least not in most of the locations around the house).
So, what is out there in the way of good self-powered speakers? Which ones should I be considering, and how to they compare in sound quality to the Sonos speakers? Right now the ZonePlayer 100 comes with free speakers from Sonos.
