I have an EP-500 for sale. Its in perfect condition. Not one scratch. I have the original cartons and spikes. $850+ shipping (check or money order) if paying through paypal then add 3%. If your on the market for this sub then this is a better deal than the blemished ones that sell direct from Axiom.

There is nothing wrong with this sub. I am simply moving towards an RBH T2 system. I really cant afford to keep this sub (though I would prefer to).

Email me at steve at blootechnologies dot com if you have any interest.

regards,

steve

Any idea how much it would cost to ship this monster to an APO box through USPS?

I'll be honest..

Ive never dealt with an APO before...

Figure around 88 pounds with packing.

I really think the only practical way to ship this would be fedex ground/home delivery service.

I dont even think the USPS would take it because it is so heavy.

origina zipcode would be 32765 if you want to mess with some shipping costs.

Yea, I know it would be pretty expensive to have something like that shipped here if it had to come direct to my door. I will have to see if USPS would be able to deliver that sort of item to an APO though. I am in the Air Force and posted here in Germany, but the APO is a post office box (military distribution) in New York state. If USPS could deliver the package there it should not be too ugly I would think... Can you give me an estimate of what the dimensions of the package would be? Thanks...

88 pounds in the box (this is why im doubtful because I though the post office had a max of 70 pounds. things might be different with an APO though)

I'll measure the carton later today for more precise numbers but I would say its in the ball park of

26 inches wide by 34 inches tall by 36 inches long.

I have to get in the attic to get the exact measurement (something that isnt fun in florida in august :)

one option.. if there is a weight issue... though it wouldnt be the best solution would be to ship two cartons. I could pull the amp out of the sub (the amp must way an easy 30 pounds. And ship the amp module in a sepparate box). It simply screws into the back and connects to two speaker wires via some binding posts. So theres always a way. I just get nervous if one carton showed up and the other was lost.

Interesting...

That might not be all that much of a bad idea. I would have to pull the amp out anyhow to convert it over to 220v, so it is something to think about. And believe me, I understand what it means to be hot. I am currently deployed to Niger (just south of the Sahara) and it has been in the low 130s for the good part of a month.

I just lost my 10 pounds and got you some numbers. I couldnt imagine 130 deg weather.

22 inches wide. 25 inches tall and 30 inches long.

actual shipping weight is 89 pounds for the single carton.

Origin zipcode is 32765

I just checked with USPS and they are not able to take any package over 70lbs. I hate to ask you this, but do you have any idea how much the packages would be if we were to ship the cabinet and the amp in seperate boxes?

I would say the amp weighs at minimum 25 pounds. so subtract the 25 pounds off the 89.. around 64 pounds.

I know the amp module is HEAVY. it has a huge toroid on it. I wouldnt be surprised if it were 35 pounds.

Ok.

I guess I will have to send Axiom a quick email to ask them about how much one of those amps weighs. Sure would be nice to be able to get that thing sent over here. ;)

I can pull the amp out later today if need be. But I know it weighs atleast 25 pounds. so if you base your shipping on that number it will all balance out over two packages. Im assuming USPS could handle a 64 pound package. and a 25 pound package.

If you end up with an answer in the next 6 hours let me know.. otherwise I can pull the amp and weigh it.

WOW!

I just got an email from Axiom on the weight of the amp..

its 45 pounds! thats one hefty sub amp.

So I guess the easiest thing is to just split the weight.

Figure around 45 to 50 pounds per carton. Obviously the amp carton will be more around 16 by 16 by 16 in terms of dims. the sub's carton will stay the same but be more around 50 pounds instead of 90 pounds.

this might be the easiest and safest way to get it to you...

Sorry I havent replied in a few days. The internet down here in Niger really sucks, and the connections are optimistic to say the least. Anyhow, we are about to start packing our stuff and heading back to Germany, should be there around next Tuesday. I am still quite interested in getting this thing from you though. Can you confirm that the amp on yours is switchable from 110v to 220v?

Yes, the Axiom EP500 can easily be configured to operate on 220/240 volts. Using a flat screw driver, just remove the fuse block located under the power cord insert and flip it over so that the arrow beside the 240 volts on the fuse block points to the ground (pointing the arrow on the fixed portion of the fuse block).

Ben, how can I buy Canton speakers in Germany

Ben, I notice that you are in Germany so I need your advice.
Have you ever shipped anything from Germany back to the US?
I see a German Online Retailer that is having great price on the
Canton Ergo 1002 DC. I contacted them and told them if they
can ship the speakers to the US but they don't know how to do it.
They asked me to contact a Freight Forwarder, but I never do this either.
Below is the link to their website.
