No sound from AIWA AV-D58

I stopped getting sound for an unknown reason. The power is on and functions seem to work. I've read the manual, which is not helpful. Any ideas will be appreciated.

make sure that you didn't press the tape monitor function, that would cause you to loose sound.

I have also had the same problem, and no it's not the "tape monitoring". I have had it for about ten years and just this year it started going out on me :(. I have looked inside, no dust and no burn marks. Fuse is still good. Any ideas?
