I'm moving into a COndo Apartment, and before they paint it and such, I want to have it wired for 5.1 surround, perhaps with future wires for 6.1 or 7.1.

As well, I want stereo, coaxial digital and perhaps s-video to run from the bedroom to the den and vice versa for music and video streaming purposes.

I'd like to buy the face plates and wirigng, plan it out, but have pros do the actual wiriing.

Any suggestions, or good places to buy this stuff?

Hi Saint,

partsexpress.com or ramelectronics for the wiring and such. For s-video, so two runs of shielded coax and use a converter to get it back to the s-video connection.

I'll let others chime in for the rest...

Can shielded coax be good for everything, i.e. video, audio, digital?

(everythig but networking that is)

I have used quad RG6 for all of my cables (video, audio, and coax digital), you just can't use it for Ir, control lines, or speaker lines (well you could, but it would be more pain then it is worth). :p
