Next week I am having dish installed at my house and I was wondering if the dish hd receivers have any issues sending a signal via HDMI thru a receiver (Yamaha 2600) like the cable boxes do? Just trying to decide how I will want it installed.
Thanks in advance,

Well since I seemed to stump everyone with this question I will go ahead and let you all know what I found out. With the Dish HD-DVR I use, video can be sent via HDMI to the 2600 then to the display. The only problem with the HDMI out from the sat receiver is that it only sends 2ch PCM, no Dolby Digital. This is easily fixed by adding a optical connection.

That's good to know. What manufacturer and model number are you using?

It's the Dish ViP622 DVR found here: http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/dishhd/receivers/vip622dvr/index.shtml
I am impressed with the picture quality, I think there is a noticable improvement going from cable to satellite. One huge plus is now I am getting 33 HD channels instead of the 15 I was getting with Cox.
I've been using a Dish HD receiver for a few months now via HDMI with no problems at all. Like you said, you need an optical cable for the DD sound, but it all works flawlessly. The VOOM channels are awesome.
