hi,
I just picked up my 335 ... tested it at the store, everything was fine except that there was a sub hum when the unit is on STANDBY mode (not when ON or OFF)
at the store, the guys said that it was the cable ... I thought it was the crappy sub attached.
but when I got home, it was the same problem. I tried 2 different subs, 3 different cables (3 subs and 4 cables if you count the store)
I have already asked my regular guy about this (he wasn't around when I picked it up) he said he was gonna get back to me today.
But just in you guys know a solution I can do myself, I'm open to suggestions please.
thanks in advance.

they're gonna replace my unit ... but Im not moving a finger. they're gonna come over, pack up the old unit and then leave the new unit ... im mulling letting their tech guys install and set it up for me too.
edit: that was before I figured out how to keep the DSP modes in place.
now, they can skip the installation part ... im happy :)

ok, the HK manual sucks.
how do I get Direct Stereo (front left and right set to large with no sub) with the HK with a click of a button (think yammy direct stereo button).
I have connected the player to the HK with analog cables. when I select stereo mode ... I have to press "analog" (2 button presses but does set the fronts to large), and then manually turn off the sub.
to go back, I have to do all those in reverse ... set the sub to yes ... return the input to optical ... etc etc

Try pushing the 'stereo' button on the remote. HK manual does suck. I think you can run it 'direct' or with 'DSP(bass and treble controls)' if you press the buttons on the front panel(2 buttons on left) turning surround off and then select DSP on or off.

thanks tdamocles.
I have somehow figured it out. I think I went to the OSD while in stereo / surround off / "analog" in, then turned off the sub. that way, each time I choose analog input, it turns off the sub.
so apparently, you have to set each "DSP" with what you want.
