This is what I came up with using the Aiva HT set-up DVD. These setting were done in a room with medium light. This brought the picture back to a more real to life look. Try it and post what you think.

Pic. mode Vivid
Picture +20
Brightness +13
Color -5
Tint -6
Sharpness -3
Black Level set to-Light

I have the Panasonic TH50PX50U and those Picture (Contrast) settings seem way to high to me. My picture setting is set to -14. If your scale runs the same as mine -30 to +30 I would say your pretty much running it in torch mode or awfully close to it.

Try sitting through an entire movie in a darkened room and see how your eyes feel when you get done watching the movie. I bet they will be on fire before you get done watching the movie.

It might be okay with some ambient light in the room but I don't think you will like it in a darkened room. Try it and let us know. You might also try re-calibrating it with the AVIA disk in a darkened room and see what settings you come up with.

Thanks for the info. I have been hearing a lot about the TV being shipped with the VIVID setting that isn't so good. This thread shoud be a good start for me tonite after the insytallers setup my HT room with my new TH-50PX60U.

Appreciate any additional feedback on setting up the TH-50PX60U or the OPPO...
