Hi all,
I have an oppotunity to buy a BFD DSP1124P here at a local store for $100 CDN plus tax. It's new in it's box. It's the lowest price I've seen but my question is, do I need a BFD??
I currently don't have a sub (sold my PB10 last month) and I'm waiting for the release of the new Ultra (PC-U) in 2 or 3 month.
What do you think??

Don't the SVS Ultra's include some type of PEQ? If so, there is no point in messing with the BFD.

Yes it does, it's a single band parametric EQ.

you wouldn't know if you need the BFD if you don't have a sub now to test the frequency response of your room. don't you have any other subwoofer? what about a loaner?

Mike, I have my old Yamaha YST-100 but I will wait for my new sub. The guy at the store said to me I was the first in about 18-24 month asking for a BFD so I assume he will still have it if I need it.

That is a great price as it sells for $100 in the US.
This is not only for subs as you can EQ any frequency in the audio band. 12 frequencies in each channel, your choice. But, you do need more than this as you need to map your response.
