Hey all,
I am looking at DVD/receiver combos and have boiled my research down to the following 2 pairs:
Yamaha DVD-s2500 & RX-v2600
Denon DVD-2910 & AVR-3806
Both pairs seem to be have great bang for the buck as far as specs are concerned.
Unfortunately, neither pair has iLink or D-Link on both ends for multi-channel digital audio.
Looking at the official HDMI specifications, it is supposed to carrying sacd and DVD-audio signals.
Is there any reason why I cannot pass multichannel digital audio over HDMI on either of these pairs?
If one can use HDMI for this, why would anyone prefer D-Link or iLink over HDMI?
Even though HDMI standards support this capability, is it possible that the DVD players do not take advantage of this capability? If so, how can a buyer know whether the vendor takes advantage of this capabilty?
Thanks for any help
