Ok, this may be a stupid question but we just got a JVC surround sound system last night and tried hooking it up, everything works but if we want to watch the dvd we have to take the yellow cable from the back of the satelite receiver and plug it into the dvd player, and vice versa. We get sound no problem but cannot just flip between dvd and satelite dish without going to the back of the units and switching cables, what are we doing wrong...any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Which JVC surround system did you get? We can look at the specs to see if you can "fool" it into switching video for you...

According to the JVC specs (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL026883&page=2) specs, you should have 2 composite video inputs so you shoudl be able to connect your two video sources into the box and then connect one of the composite outputs to your TV.
Then, depending upon which input you have selected, you should see the result on the television.
How are you currently wired?
