View Full Version : 2900 has arrived!

Just connected my new 2900 ($479 from Vann's), and it is new in the box as promised, but with a build date of September '03 (not an issue as of yet). Did a preliminary setup, and wow, the colors and crispness really outshine my beloved, but dated, but nonetheless respectable dvd5000. The sound seems to be fuller and more accurate (I've only played the battle scene in Gladiator),making me want to reposition the location of my two back speakers. I can't wait to really set this thing up and see what it's got!

You got a NEW 2900? WOW $479 is good for a new in box one, because that's not too much more than they are going used. It probably does need the update. See here:

It is. Vann's still has them @ $479 if anyone is interested. My only complaint is the old build date, which seems to necessitate the firmware upgrade. If that's the only issue, (and it seems to be as I tested for three hours last night, with more grueling rounds to go), it's a keeper!
