Well, about two weeks ago I recieved my Axiom Audio M22's, VP150, and QS4's. My SVS PCI 25-31 arrived about 4 days later. I was out of town for a week after everything arrived and finally have it all hooked up. The sound is absolutely amazing. Voices from the center channel are crisp and clear. The surrounds provide great detail and realism and work well with music as well. The SVS sub is the best I have ever heard for the money. Very happy with the system overall. I have not yet watched an entire movie since getting them hooked up.:cool: I think I finally have them tuned up and dialed in where I want them. I could not be happier with this system. It makes my pioneer HTIB setup seem like watching a movie in mono. hehe

Glad you are enjoying your new speakers.
I will be upgrading shortly to a similar setup and I am curious on your opinions of the Axiom VP100 vs. VP150 center and QS4 vs. QS8 surrounds.
Do you feel that the center is overkill for the M22ti mains or that there is anything lacking from the surrounds?

For my purposes, the qs4's are perfect. They are only about 5 feet away from my listening posistion so I did not opt for the QS8's although they do have larger woofers, but in my experience most surround sound does not drop below 80hz or so. The VP150 is fantastic. I chose that over the 100 the center channel is the hardest working speaker in the system. When I have the volume cranked up you can still clearly hear voices through the VP150. Its great for war movies. Also if you look at the specs of the speakers, all of them use 5 1/4 inch woofers and 1 inch tweeters. I like the voice matching from this. My receiver is driving all of the speakers at about 125 watts at 6 ohms and that is more than enough power. The VP150 matches extremely well with the M22's. The only thing you might want to consider is the size. Was not an issue for me, but it is almost 2 ft long and might not fit in all entertainment centers or tv stands. If you have any other questions let me know.

Law,
Do you think the smaller drivers in the QS4's tonally match well enough with the front and center channels?

Yes I do. all of the speakers are using the same drivers for the 5 1/4 and tweeter.

but in my experience most surround sound does not drop below 80hz or so

That was true previously with prologic, where the surrounds were limited, but with the newest formats they are full bandwidth channels.

Law;
Another question for you on the QS4s. What size room are you using these in? I'm still debating whether I need the QS4s or QS8s and if I can save $100 in the process, I'd like to.

I'm sure they're solid with movie soundtracks. My only concern is I'll be using them about 50/50 for movies/music, but want to make sure they'll hold up in a decent sized room (approx. 350 sq. ft) with multichannel music. Thks in advance... -TD

My room is approx. 400 sf. They do perform great with movies. I to listen to alot of music, but have not listened SACD or DVDA with this setup. I have listen in both two channel and 5.1 with various CD's and I think they sound great. My advice is to try the QS4's. If you don't like them Axiom does have a trade up program where you can pay the difference in price for the better product later. I chose the QS4's because it is a 5.1 system and they are extremely close to the listening posistion. One day when I upgrade to a 7.1 set up I will probably add a pair of the QS8's. Hope that helps.

I think he asks because the QS4s use 4" drivers rather than 5.25s"

Yes the QS4's do use 4 inch drivers rather than the 5 1/4 but they still match tonally well with the rest of the system.
