Has anyone seen this paper?

How did this moron get published? A monkey could have done a better job than this idiot. I can't believe that AES would actually approve the publishing of bad science like this. It must have been a Monday and they were all hung over.

That's entertaining. I guess Audioquest must be the best then!

How so? What do you see wrong with that paper???

.....in the report/paper, go to page 6, and on the right side at the top, read the first full paragraph that begins with the words, "The Damping Factor"....then, on page 7, also on the right side, read the first paragraph of the "Conclusions" section, which comments about the effects and results of a damping factor that is low....

The article seems to agree with mudcat's testing. Maybe it's time to do some cat5 braiding.

High output impedance affects frequency response, period. Bob Carver has demonstrated this with an external resistor in series with the amp and speaker. Nothing new. High output impedance amps are poor designs.
So, how does that make the paper flawed, written by a "moron?"

Maybe it's time to do some cat5 braiding.
Only with such poorly designed amps that have high output impedance.
But when you lower the inductance, you increase capacitance and some great amps, like the Naim, will self destroy from oscillation.

.....8 posts on this thread and guess who has four....the site's resident nay-sayer to "any" report of something heard....I don't have a clue what the four posts say but I suspect there's foaming at the mouth with damping factor being the subject....HiFi, there's no doubt in my mind you heard differences in the two amps with damping factors of 40 and 100 compared....why?....mainly because you said you heard differences, and it's obvious you're mentally competent and would have no reason to misrepresent....Nick250, you were correct in your advice....this site became more enjoyable to me three days ago when I launched an ignore that won't change this time....I wish more people in their best descriptions would say what they hear with their equipment....and, you don't have to even see posts that are constantly negative......

But then the posts wouldn't make sequential sense. :(

But then the posts wouldn't make sequential sense. :(.....do what you gotta', Buckle, I'm honestly not trying to promote anything....you ever been told you "could not" have heard what you heard?.....
.....edit....I'm honestly not trying to promote anything, except posters feel comfortable in posting what they hear from their equipment without concerns of instant confrontation.....

mulester7 is absolutely right. I mean come on if you took a new cable from BRAND X and replace it witha cable from BRAND Y you will hear the difference. Now depending on the effect the new brand has on the sound will determine whether or not the change is good or bad. Sometimes you might not hear the difference at all.
I like Monster Cable and yes I like Audioquest. Anything is better then the gerneric bargain bin cables for $5.99 for a 12ft optical cable is going to improve signal path. Skimping on cables in favor of a lower price is idiotic considering the cost of the equipment behind it. Or is there now some Audioholics made up cost ratio where your cables can only cost 10-15% of the over system value.
Sure I can see how some resent buying names like Monster but its the fact that in order to stay afloat most retailers need to make up in lost margains from your damn insecent rebates and instant savings. If you are one who cares not about the middle man then by all means go with a brand that sells factory direct.

I would call spending more than one has to is senseless. I am working on a new, improved sugar, costs $10/lb, $25/lb for audiophiles. Should be on the grocer's shelves soon. Be sure to support it by purchasing it.
