2 Velodyne vrp-10000's or a single svs pb-10?

If you prefer 2 velodyne's would you simply split the lfe out coax, or use l/r speaker wire?

yes, just split the RCA (or coax).

but, I would most definitely pick the SVS over those two.
your budget is around 400-500?

your other choices are the DLS-4000R (this one has a remote)

DPS-12 (almost the same as the DLS, except with no remote)

if your budget is lower, check out the DLS-3750R too.

Unless bass localization is a big issue, the SVS would be a better solution than the VRP-1000s. Extension would be better with the SVS, output would likely be better as well. As I mentioned, the only issue I could see the two Velos being a better solution is if your speaker frequency response was ~100Hz or higher. Might help to know the size of the listening environment as well, but I don't think it's going to make an impact when deciding between these two options... -TD

edit: yes to the dual sub config on splitting the LFE using a RCA splitter...

Not sure what ax it is you have to grind regarding SVS, but try being a little more objective. Ripping into them every time you have the opportunity to completely negates any input you might have to offer, whether its positive or negative... -TD

There's absolutely nothing wrong w/Velodyne, I think they make some excellent subwoofers.

SVS doesn't have to be the first to be suggested, the author of this thread asked a question regarding the use of two specific Velos in comparision to the use of one specific SVS.

Prior to hearing an SVS firsthand, it was just another internet-based electronics company to me, plain and simple. Didn't discount the quality and performance of their product offerings, but had no experience with them, so I wasn't impressed with them, either. After hearing a couple, seeing the build quality and speaking with their folks, I began to appreciate the products they produce and service they provide for them.

If you don't feel the same, that's perfectly fine, that's what opinions are all about. My point is that out of your 69 posts on Audioholics' forums, a large percentage of them is just plain SVS bashing. If you're not fond of their products and have valid arguments as to why you aren't pleased with them (sans pissing and moaning), then so be it, that's your experience with SVS products. But if the only contributions you can make are baseless (no pun intended) gripes that have little to do with the product build quality, support or performance, S.T.F.U....

Being in the Atlanta area, I think that takes me out of the running for working for SVS. As for supporting them, I'd recommend their product, just as I would for any other products I have had positive experiences with. -TD

the VRP-1000 just doesnt have the extension, and I highly doubt they have SPL capabilities that come close to the PB-10

Basshead, if you have a bad experience with SVS, go to the steam vent and VENT. people will understand you better. also, instead of just nixing SVS choices, try suggesting alternatives
