View Full Version : where are JBL speakers made?

onecall has JBl speakers ar 50% off right now. I'm thinking of picking some up, but being in canada it's a little complicated to get them shipped.

Right now I am concerned about where they are made. The reason I ask is that if they are built in the USA or canada they are covered under NAFTA and I pay no duty on them.

Anyone have a box for them? Can you take a look at see if there is a big ol' 'made in china' printed on them?

Have you tried to call JBL? That may be the best source. Maybe some are made over seas and other models made here?

most are from mexico I think. so that would be covered by the NAFTA also (i think again)

you can check the online manuals or rear pictures of the speakers (to confirm), but your best bet is to call and ask.

I thought so to. So I went back to some older pics I had.
Granted, it is hard to read because it is a crop of about 1/2"x1/2" of the original photo.
But you can see that there is no 'Made in ?'
So I D/L'ed the manual, and the same - no 'Made in'
If I recall, the box did say China (but I would not stake my life on it)
Could have been Mexico, heck it could have been Mars.:D
So I too would say, just call JBL.

My JBL HLS615 speakers are labeled "Made in USA" on the back of the speaker. It may be that newer or different models will be made in different locations. Give JBL a call.

Depends on the model. The newer ones are mostly made in Mexico, older ones were made in California, USA.

I have a set of E80's and E20's, both were made in Mexico.

I've noticed most Infiniti speakers come from Mexico, so I'd venture to say the JBL's come from there too. Just a guess though. :)
