Who compiled that list because I'd say there's only about a dozen movies in it I even liked, much less would consider the "best?"

Someone emailed it to me, so by no means was it compiled by the likes of Ebert or any well-known film critics. I guess the term "the best" was misleading and it's all some guy's and some of mine, personal opinion. Really I'd like to see people create their own list of their favorite movies, or must haves in one's collection.

I agree, that list leaves a bit to be desired.
Cassablanca
Rocky
2001
2010
Dr Zhivago
Gone with the wind.
I mean anyone that has Spinal tap and Fight club on as greatest movies has some problems. Real problems.
Sheep,
Team America: World Police and Baseketball. Are you insane? Dude, you need to get out more.

Yeah when I posted I must of overlooked spinal tab, that movie was a bit irritating. Most of those I didn't put. My personal favorite movies are Scarface, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, The Wall, Vanilla Sky, Reservior Dogs, Kill Bill (Vol. 2), The Royal Tennenbaums, Garden State, Million Dollar Baby, Fast and the Furious, Bullit, Scindler's List, The Pianist, LOTR, Magnolia, The French Connection, The Exorcist, Scary Movie Series, Saw, Napolean Dynamite (yeah.. I'm embarassed to say I enjoyed the off-beat somewhat "lame" comedy), The Birds, Vertigo, Rear Window, Silence of the Lambs, North By Northwest, and Saving Private Ryan.
I was disappointed with the Godfather. I heard so much about it, and I just recently saw it. Maybe I need to see it twice to appreciate it.

Ghostbusters

Are we talking OUR favorites? Because my favorites and great movies aren't always the same thing :)
I own about 1/3 of that list, and I've seen most of the ones listed. There are quite a few on there that I don't agree with though.

I'm sorry if you don't understand jokes pointed towards you, but I find them hilarious.
Baseketball was just a good around movie. Not a test movie, but funny as hell. Sometimes I just like to relax and laugh, don't you?

Team America is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. They crush all of the stereotypes with their jokes etc.
Remember is it takes real talent to be a F.A.G. :D

I was disappointed with Team America, and I expected something more from the likes of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, given I'm a huge south park fan (i've seen every episode). It's just like how I was disappointed with the family guy movie (Stewie Griffin:The Untold Story)(I'm also a huge family guy fan).

Requiem was in the original list. Interesting flic; Aronofski is a very good director. Pi is good, but not one of my favorites. Memento is also an excellent and fairly uniquely done movie.
I'll add:
Sid & Nancy
Akira
Alien, Aliens
Tommy Boy
A Clockwork Orange
Goodfellas
Full Metal Jacket
Grave of the Fireflies
Leon: The Professional

I have another addition:
As Good as it Gets
I feel it's really a great movie. An all around, feel good, enjoyable film that, while slightly cliche, is worth a few (if not more) watches.

How about the Great Escape. Anyone here old enough besides me to remember when that came out? What a cast too.

The Great Escape kinda pissed me off because when Steve Mcqueen (i think it was him) was riding that motorcycle, it looked like they just sped up the tape so he wasn't really going that fast. Ya, the theme song has become an overused kinda clechish tune, but besides that, its a pretty good film. Anyone see Bullit? Probably one of the best car chases ever.

Also, by the way, lol, aren't you guys reading the original list? Most of the movies you're adding was already on it (king kong, the great escape, requiem for a dream, etc). :)
