Need advices on rear speakers

My speakers (B&W):

Front Speakers DM603 S3
Centre Speaker LCR60 S3
SubWoofer ASW 600

I need to pick rear speakers to close match with those above. But my couch is located against the back wall (13 ft from front speakers).
I know the closest match would be DM600 S3 (bookshelf), that'll be ugly if I wall mount them on the backwall right above sitting position, but I might try to hide it some how. I'm just afraid the sound wont be good since they're bookshelves and right above listening position.
I consider the B&W M-1 (wall mount), they will look great on my wall and looks like they have wider arc.
In your opinion /experience, will the M-1 be good with my config or I have to oblige the DM600 S3.

The proper placement for surrounds when you're only doing 5.1 is to the sides and slightly behind the listening position. If you have room on either side of the couch, then you can use the aforementioned bookshelves on stands. Just keep in mind that the surrounds should be higher up than the normal speakers.

Looks like you're a B&W man. It's a very good idea to keep the speakers matched across the front, but, personally, I don't think it's that important to limit yourself to one brand for surrounds. That is unless you listen to a lot of surround music and you are worried about timbre matching (still, most vocals are going to be in front). I have very different surround speakers compared to the rest of my setup and I listen to multichannel music - my setup does just fine. Balancing the speaker levels and dealing with the room acoustics is the key.

Surrounds don't do nearly the work that the fronts do, so I say you shop around for other brands that may work better in your room. Don't limit yourself. Go test drive some other speakers and you might find a pair of surrounds that fit much better.

Thanks for advices. So I think the M-1 will do just fine if we dont really need to match.
