I am considering buying the 50" Elite plasma or the 55" Hitachi (55HDS52) plasma. I am unsure about the differences and which is the better unit. Feedback would be great. Other than the obvious size difference, and money between the two isnt a big factor, I just want the better product, which is better and why? And should there be a noticeable difference?

Does anybody happen to know any differences? Even personal opinions would help

My opinion is that the Hitachi is very underated and the Pioneer is very OVERated. In this case you are comparing diamonds(Pioneer Elite) to
pearls(Hitachi S52) The equivalent to the ELITE pioneers best would be
the Hitachi Director Series 55HDX62. There is actually one in between which
is the 55HDT52. The 1080p processor that is available on both the T52 and the X62 is of some great interest to me. I am actually going to wait till next
fall when these should be avialable with DVR built in to them---I will go with the T52 or X62 (approx $500 more)------If you look for the non-current models T51 or X61 you may be able to get a step up in a Hitachi Plasma for the current price of the S52.

Hello
Ok you want a personal opinion. I love Hitachi for several reasons mainly It provides my clients with a high bang to buck ratio But if I had the choice it would be the Elite.
