Do DirecTV TIVO receivers have component video? My 2yr. old Sony Wega has component, and I have the right Monster cables for component, so can I use them to connect a DirecTV receiver to my TV? Is that Enhanced Definition Television (EDTV/480p)?

I also have S-Video, but I'm saving S-Video for my Xbox 360 because it's an upgrade over composite. Basically, my question is how do I get 480p with a DirecTV receiver?

Go to Direct website.

They do if you get a HD model instead of a SD model. No standard definition DSS receiver that I've ever seen has had a component video output.

All HD ones I have seen do.

If an HD DirecTV receiver is the only receiver with component output, then I might as well get an HDTV:)

The next best thing would be S-Video, and I know they have that on the rest of their receivers.

And by the way, does component hook up give you 480p (Enhanced Definition)??

nevermind, now I know why you'd still have component hook up with a HDTV DirecTV receiver...
