I'm looking at getting outdoor speakers for our pool, I'm looking at the B & W WM6 speakers because of the name. Has anyone had experience
with these speakers or have any opinions on any others. I probably will be powering them with the Yamaha RX-V2600.

They should work very well, I also recommend the Paradigm Stylus 350.

I am also looking for outdoor speakers for my patio. I currently have a BIC Venturi system indoors, and I like the sound, so I was considering the BIC Adatto DV52si's. I also have been looking at Yamaha NS-AW150's or NS-AW350's.
With a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter, and a frequency response of 45Hz-40kHz, the Yamaha NS-AW350 seems to be the most full-sounding of the bunch. And it looks like they can be had for about $100 shipped online.

I'm looking for some patio speakers also. Those Yamaha's look like a pretty good deal. They also include mounting brackets. There is also the JBL N26, but they cost more and don't include mounting hardware.
I just want some background noise for bbqing etc.. I won't be doing any critical listening in my backyard.

I'm particularly interested in how much difference there is between the 150's and the 350's.

Just got back from best buy. yamaha 350's are missing from midrange and subwoofer. The 150's were not able to demo.
The Klipsch Synergy Series KHO-7 sounded very good. They are $349 though.
After listening I would pay the extra money for them. You could probably find them cheaper on the internet. I would encourage you to listen to the yamaha vs. Klipsch before buying. At my Bestbuy you could just press a button to switch speakers. I used the same cd and receiver to demo both, I just kept switching back and forth. I also listened to bose and another brand called Hometech(?). Nothing was in the ballpark compared to the Klipsch.
There is big difference between outdoor speakers.
The Klipsch have a much fuller range, including a deeper bass even though they use a smaller sub.
Please demo before you buy.

Ray - great suggestion. A few questions: What is the impedance of these speakers? Is the weight of 17 lbs for the pair (as opposed to each)? I did a quick search, and did not find them available online. What is the specific model number and who carries these speakers?
Also, in looking around, I found Pyle PDWR63 speakers, which actually seem to have fairly similar specs to the Klipsch. Do you have any experience with the Pyle outdoor speakers, and how would you compare them to the Klipsch?
Finally, I have one more question for you. I am going to be placing two pairs of speakers outside my home. One will be mounted to the house for the patio/deck area. A second pair will go away from the house in a seating area, and our landscape designer recommended getting faux-rock speakers to blend in with the landscaping. Do you have any recommendations for good bang-for-the-buck rock speakers?
I saw in another thread that you are having back problems. I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

I have Niles OS-20 speakers on my screen porch and have been extremely happy with them. Built to milspec yet sound like a higher end indoor bookshelf. See if you can find some to listen to.

Look for NXG Technology - NX-PRO6000W
I was actually able to figure that out, as I could make out the letters "NXG" on the thumbnail, and did a search from there.
Is NXG related to Klipsch (owned by same parent company)?
NXG's are great speakers for LOW money! I have used them several times.
If you want the best outdoor speaker IMHO Niles hands down. They are the only ones that have held up on beach houses down here on the coast. Wonderful speakers, top notch!

What about these? The price is right, and Dayton seems to put out some decent products for a small price.

Ended up buying the Klipsch AW-650 for the main speakers and the Klipsch AW-800-SW for the subwoofer. I ordered speaker wire from westlake as read in a separate post. Now I'm just waiting for them to arrive. These speakers are a step up from the Klipsch Synergy Series KHO-7 . A friend got me a great deal on them. Can't wait to try them. Thanks for the input all.

Finally got around hooking up the Klipsh outdoor aw-650 and aw-800 subwoofer. Just powering it with zone 2 from Yamaha rx-v2600 reciever, it sounds incredable. The speakers have full range , the added sub helps. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.

i listened to both yamaha and klipsch outdoor speakers today at buy..not sure of the models, butt he yamahas were 80 and the klipsch were 300. both of them didnt sound near as good as the $70 insignia speakers, which are best buy's store brand. they only had a 5.25 inch speaker and were rated at 125 watts, which I need more power. unfortunately they dont make a biger more powerful model so i am still looking, but they sounded very good, especialy for the price. Has anyone heard anything about Pyle outdoor speakers? I found a nice pair (basing on the specs) and want to see if anyone has heard them.
thanks

My OSD (Outdoor Speaker Depot) speakers have a switch for 70v usage. This link might shed some light on it:

Hi,
I just had a pair of 650's installed today. I really liked how they sounded (after one listen only) Can't wait to spend a little time outside with them this weekend.
