Rear / Side surrounds ? QS8?

I find that I am listening to more music then I had planned on now that I have quality stuff to listen through.

Cussently I have M22Tis for fronts and a pait of QS8s for rears. I was planning on adding another pair of QS8s for the sides. But now, because I am listening to more music, I think maybe I ought to move my current Qs8s to the sides, and get a set of Axiom book shelf speakers for the rear. This would be not as good for HT but a bit better for Music I think.

What are your thoughts?

i havent heard it set up both ways but, that seems to be what people recommend. I dont think the qs8's would preform very well with music.

i have the same set up, and i think ill just move my m22ti's to the rear and eventually buy some m80's for fronts.

it would sound good for both music and ht with the bookshelf rears.

Nice Axiom setup, I am hoping to upgrade to your configuration.
For your current 5.1 setup, you should definately have one pair of QS8s to the sides of the listening position. Check the Dolby speaker placement guide on this site or on the Axiom site.
For the rear surround channels, a pair of M2i's would be a cheaper alternative at $280. They are also more flexible for mounting as they don't have woofers on the bottom.
Several reviews, including audioholics rate the QS8 hightly for both music and HT. If the have a perticularly large room with multiple listening positions, then the QS8s might perfrom better for HT. Also, you would not have to worry about a bunch of holes in the rear wall.
