My new hometheater is made of satellites ENGERGY TAKE 5.2 BUT I need a subwoofer. Do to many reviews I am going for the velodyne sub. My question is : Is an 8 sub to small for satellites or do I need more power to handle bass using a 10 sub? Will a 10 sub be too powerfull? and overpower my speakers? These are satellites, not tower speakers. Thanx

Perhaps a used SPL 800 sub on eBay or somewhere would be a good match. I have one and love the sound... perfect for a small to mid-sized room - very transparent.
SPL 1000 (10" version) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=802517668)

Look for an Earthquake MKIV-10. They can easily be had for under $400 and I personally feel they are better than anything else in this price point.

What is this, resurrect an old post day? This one is from 2002. I think he made his decision by now.
