Has anybody had the oportunity to listen to both the s2 series versus the newer s3 series bookshelves. I'm looking into getting the dm 601's but can probably purchase the s2's a little cheaper on eBay. Should I consider spending more money to get the s3's? I saw one post somewhere that said there is not really that much of an audible difference. Anyone else out there with the same experience? Also, anyone know of any good deals?

I do believe that the S3 uses a Nautilus Tweeter derrivative. It uses a tapered tube behind the tweeter to reduce resonance and distortion. Personally, I thought the S3 had a bit better detail in the higher frequencies than the S2. Either way, one really could not be disappointed.

With the LCR series I started out with the S2 version for the Center speaker and I thought it sounded fine until I upgraded to the S3. It made me think the S2 sounded kind of tinny in my set up. I hope this helps.
