Home depot sells some good 12ga speaker wire. This will work for whatever you need. Digi-key sells some solder on banana plugs that will accept 12ga for $0.25 ea

I purchased my 12ga from Home Depot, and terminated them with digi-keys banana plugs. The wire has not tarnished (over 5 months) as some say it will. You shouln't pay more than $.30 a foot for 12ga wire, and shouldn't buy anything less than 14ga wire for runs over 25ft. Good advice, Mac.

Seems CAT 5 network cable is a good way to go.

Shoot, I forgot to post this. Some killer deals here.

The wire has not tarnished (over 5 months) as some say it will.

For about $3 an electrical-contractor supply store will sell you a tube of corrosion inhibitor especially designed for copper wire.

But of course its black, smells bad, and doesn't have an 'audiophile' name like "Rare earth sleepy-time voodoo bullschit electrical contact midrange protector", it'll more likely be called "Copper wire corrosion inhibitor".

For speaker cable, Westlake Electronic (www.westlake-electronic.com). Search for 5000UE (12ga) 5T00UP (10ga) for Belden stuff, or 4S11 for some good Canare speaker cable.

For IC's, check out Knu Konceptz (http://www.knukonceptz.com/). They have 4m Component Video cables on sale right now for $18!

I'll second the Westlake recommendation for raw speaker cable. For the bananas I went to Orange County Speaker. For the other interconnects I use Blue Jeans Cables. Impact Acoustics is recommended a lot around here as well.

Very nice, tight connection. Plus you get a discount being an audioholics member.

I am not a fan of the setscrew type bananas. I like the PE 091-330 (http://www.partexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=091-330). They use a small separate piece of metal that does not twist as you tighten the screw down, so it doesn't score/gouge the wire as you tighten. They are also side entry, so the wire just hangs down or to the side rather than sticking straight out.
