View Full Version : Fellow Videoholics what would you like....
Hi All
I will be taking a day at CEDIA to look at video products and new technology that you may be interested in. Please post here if there is something specific you want me to investigate. Please keep in mind that my workload will be heavy at the show I will try to see as much as I can. If it is there I will make every attempt to find out info for you ;)
Thanks Ray

1080p, 1080p, 1080p!!!
I'd love to see more about Blu-Ray, but expect very little new from last year except lots of vaporware.
I haven't heard much to anything about 1080p DLP and I think that will be the technology that drives 720p DLP down to the basement.
Anything new from Sim2? I've heard rumors of a few new projectors from them.
ANY new flat panel display technologies?
What else? HDMI capable receivers... in the sub $1K range.
Inexpensive optical HDMI video transmitters/receivers?
It would be nice to be back in the retail world to see some killer new products.

I second the Sim2 line, try to get as detailed as possible, if available.
Also any possible new 'projector' screen technologies....
Thanks RLA....

Hi,
I would like to see what you can find out about the future for plasma as well as other flat panel displays. It seems as though some mfrs such as Sony are getting out of the plasma business.
Any good news about 1080p, as mentioned already would be nice to know.
Please check out the new Sony SXRD units if you get time and report on how they look. If I don't go with a plasma I would look into either one of these, a DLP or LCoS unit.
Thanks for the time!!!
Enjoy the show.

Any and all displays that are 1080P capable and especially if they are capable of accepting a 1080P input.
Any and all HD/BD DVD and when they will be available. Confirm if they will output 1080P and 1080i.
And, with Mitsubishi, Samsung and the like coming out with 1080P DLP sets will they discontinue to make 720P sets? Is the 720P TI chipset destined for the dinosaur bin? Ditto with JVC and their 720P sets.

Anything on 1080p, and details on the battle between HD-DVD and Blueray. HDMI capable receivers as well, and as always anything you can't help but share with the rest of us!

I hope to see less computers and HT getting together. I big on computer over there and my A/V over here, seperate. It seems everyear they are trying to combine them.
I hope to see less computers and HT getting together
Why,
These are a match made in heaven. Have you seen a front projection system
or large monitor running native resolution with 1:1 pixel mapping from a HTPC?
It will knock your socks off
Now we are getting into high resolution render less with combination filters and the results surpass any source on the market by a fair margin with a sub $1000 machine and software :) Like it or not this is the future MCE 2005 is just the start and you will be assimilated :D
