Guys, just found out about this while I was surfing. In the U.S., you can get coca cola made with real sugar around passover (mid March) in certain regions where there is a substantial Jewish population. They come in 2 liter bottles, and according to various sources you can identify them by the letters "oup" or some other "p" on the cap, or just look for Hebrew letters on the packaging.

Coke in the U.S. is made with corn syrup. Since corn is not considered kosher for Passover, Coke decided to make them with real sugar for select Jewish neighborhoods.

This is so cool. I have always wanted to try Coke made with real sugar. Now I know where to get them. :D

Just wait till March, I'll be hording my STASH of sugar Coke! :D

At school my friend mario is an exchange student from Mexico City and he brought up a few cases of Coke from home. I hate the taste of our coke, but theirs down there I thought was much better.

Dr. Pepper sells it year round, only made in one bottling plant here in TX. Made with pure cane sugar, none of the corn syrup syrup stuff. My wife buys me a few cases of it every year for my birthday.

Most of the soda in Canada is also made with real sugar. Coke and Pepsi included

That's comforting to know. Here in the good old U.S. of A we just get shafted left and right. What's up with this?! :(

Most small Mexican restaraunts around here have the Mexican versions of both Coke and Pepsi with real sugar. They definitely taste better.

Oh the madness!

First Canada, now Mexico! Why are we sugar Coke lovers here in the U.S. being treated like second class citizens!

I really want to boycott all Coke products starting tomorrow. But I really don't think I can kick my Coke addiction. There is just something special about a cup of ice chilled Coke (preferrably made with real sugar). :(

Spiffyfast, Coke is not happy at all with the distribution of Coke from Mexico. They have tried to stop it but have run into problems (NAFTA) stopping it. There are a few places online that will ship it to you. Google will find it for anyone that wants it that bad. Mostly if you go into what ever "little mexico" you have in your city you will find it on there shelves. Just look to see where it was bottled.

I don't really drink soda, so I'm not too worried about it, I just have tried coke made with sugar and thought it was better than what we have here in the states.

You don't really have to look too hard, the bottles are the same old glass ones that were used 15 years ago... There should be a white sticker on them too that has the required FDA info on it. Most little hole in the wall restaraunts I go to, you have to ask for it specifically (bottle), or they will give you a can.

One reason soft drinks are made with fructose in the US is that sugar prices are about triple what they are on the world market...tariff/subsidy stuff. The Mexicans and Canadians can purchase cane sugar quite a bit cheaper than we can.
