The Pioneer PDP-5060HD (50") and PDP-4360HD (43") utilize newly developed sixth generation plasma glass combined with Pioneer's proprietary new PureDrive II video processing -- a combination of technologies all designed to create blacker blacks, smoother transitions and generally sharper, brighter and more accurate images than previous models.</FONT>

I do not believe they have gone 1080p - if they had it would be plastered all over that release.

Next year---'06 will be the year for 1080p (1920X1020) Plasmas. Current HD
Plasmas will have dramatic price drops and the newer 1080p plasmas will be
at the higher prices.

Current HD Plasmas will have dramatic price drops and the newer 1080p plasmas will be at the higher prices....12 channels of audio will be transmitted wirelessly at 32-bit/384kHz resolution, 1080p source material will be blasted in uncompressed through cable and satellite, and dogs everywhere will stop pooping on lawns and learn to use the toilet... :D
