Tweeter is selling this for $2500 right now -- it is a 62" DLP. A friend of mine is looking to buy it but I don't know what to tell him. Are better TV's available in that price range?
I am of the opinion that he should get a better abeit smaller one at that price point -- anyone care to offer an opinion?

thanks

dont know about that particular tv, but as a whole mitsubishi offers great products in the big screen market, so 2500 for a 62" dlp, id say go for it, of course research a lil and find out about that particular model

yeah, i have looked around & cannot find any reviews on it. personally, i have a 34" sony hdtv (crt) and love it, so I don't know much along the lines of DLP technology

IMO Mitsubishi makes the best DLP sets followed very closely by Samsung. That's a nice set but it's only 720P and does not have the anti-glare screen. Personally I'd get the new 1080P set with the anti-glare screen that just came out.

duffinator -- thanks for the post, didn't realize it did not have an anti-glare screen screen on it, was exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Can you reccomend any that do, and are not prohibitively expensive (under $2000)? I am not so much concerned about the 1080P.

I think all of the Samsung's have the anti-glare screen and the higher end Mitsubishi's have it. Search the Mitsubishi link for the exact model. I have a Toshiba CRT RPTV without the anti-glare screen with a South facing window in the room and it's tough watching TV during the daytime. The smaller Samsung's maybe under $2K as they are blowing them out to make room for the 1080P sets. Check Onecall, a highly recommended etailer.
