Ubid.com has the entire 5.1 BIC Acoustech system for $776 shipped. You need to order the center, towers, surrounds, and sub separately. For some reason, they have the HT63 and HT65 listed at $65 and $55 respectively, plus shipping. Not sure if that's a typo, but someone should jump on it regardless. You can make it a 7.1 for another $100.

The best deal at Ebay is around $918, which saves you $142. That's hard to beat, especially with a 12" Hsu designed woofer. This system is great for HT, rock, rap, and those with entry to mid level receivers that may be light on power. These speakers are very sensitive and will play loud.

The specs on the HT75 towers are:
Design - Video shielded, two-way, three component tower.
Frequency Response - 35 Hz - 20 kHz (+/- 3 dB)
Drivers - Dual 6 1/2" woofers, one 6 1/2" mid/high frequency horn with neodymium magnet.
Sensitivity - 96 dB @ 1 watt, 1 meter (that's why they play so loud)
Power - 10 - 150 watts per channel.
Dimensions - 40" H x 9 W x 8" D
Impedance - 8 Ohms

I'm here, if I didnt just send in my deposit on my room at college I'd bid on the center and surrounds, I did just bid on the center, so hopefully I get that, really just want the front 3 anyways. And ill get some klipsch satelites for the surrounds and rears I think, I'd rather just here those speakers than see them

Ok, I'll take a picture of the fronts standing next to the Fluance fronts. BRB.

I'll email BIC today and see if they'll send Clint or Gene a set to review. I'll also plug the Venturi's. They get enough recognition around here, and those who've bought them love them. A review could do wonders for BIC, especially if they advertise on this site. I doubt they'd get ripped, based on their price point, and also based on how those Canyon entry level speakers did. Pair those up with a Pioneer 1015 receiver in a review, and watch 'em fly off the shevles.

very nice, just curious, doesnt look like it from the pic, but are the HT-75's bi-ampable, not that you need to at 96db, but i was wondering, and do they not come with spikes, they can't be that stable at how narrow and tall they are without them

In a PM I told you there were plusses and negatives compared to the Fluance. Some of the negatives are not capable of biamp, and no floor spikes.
A plus is they intergrate well with the sub. And have excellent mid-range.
Also they are superb looking. More on all this later.
I will also put up some other pics later. Of surrounds and center.

Brian,

Those are nice looking. How's the bass response? Have you tried them in a corner? Post some pictures of the center and surrounds, too. Can you put them near something to get an idea of size?

Here's the letter I drafted and sent to BIC:

Dear BIC/Acoustech,

I am an active member of www.Audioholics.com. I go by the screen name "Buckeyefan 1." Yes, I'm from Columbus, OH, and a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan.

www.Audioholics.com is one of the top rated internet sights for A/V advice, and are a no frills website that debunks a lot of myths of high end audio. We currently have over 8600 members in our forum, with almost 12,500 threads, and over 85,000 posts. There are usually from 200 to 700 members on at the same time. When a product gets recommended, people usually buy. And that's not from advertising. It's from peer's advice, as well as reviews.

Recently, another member and myself paid a visit to a speaker factory in Youngstown, OH. You may have heard of them - SV Subwoofers. They have one of the best followings on the net regarding mid to high end subwoofers. Audioholics did a review on a popular subwoofer last year, and they have been selling like hotcakes.

We would be interested in possibly doing the same with your lines. Or even better yet, to have you ship a surround setup to our President or Editor for a review.

I would recomment the BIC Acoustech 5.1 set, as well as a 5.1 Venturi set consisting of the DV84's, 4 DV62's, a CLRS62 Center, and a V1220 sub.

I own an older pair of the DV62 bookshelves, and have recommended them numerous times. My colleage purchased a 7.1 Venturi set (similar to the one mentioned above - with DV52's for the rear surrounds) for his father in law. He was extremely impressed with the sound. He and most of his family own McIntosh equipment, so this coming from him means a lot.

I did have one added question. It seems there's a lot of buzz about a crossover modification that can be done by a Mr. Ed Frias. I've always wondered, if that modification does so much to remove some of the "muddy bass" and "brighter highs," why hasn't BIC addressed it themselves? Anyone who has paid to have this modification done, has always remarked favorably.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

We'll see if they respond.

On the sound, uhm well. I will give a review of them after I sell the Fluance set. There are major differences on them compared to the Fluance, both positives and negatives.
As far as the size, they are quite large. The surround pictures below are next to the Terminator and Crow. Both of those are 18" The center is half hazzardly set on the receiver. And is quite large as well. It is twice as big, as the Fluance center.

Great letter to Bic Buckeye, hopefully they do send a system in for review. Bic gets plugged all of the time for a great budget alternative, I'd really like to see how they stand up to the hype, hopefully in a month I'll be able to comment on it.
