Looking for a recommendation on a decent universal remote. This is for my upstairs living room system:

DirecTV TiVO Cable box
Sony STR-DE598 receiver
Toshiba SD-3980 dvd player
Toshiba 30HFX84 TV

I’d rather not spend $100 on a Harmony when I only need to control these four pieces of equipment. Anything in the $30-$50 range?

Thanks in advance for the help.

i think for 50 bucks you wont really find anything better than your receiver remote.

id go for the harmony if anything. I am in the same situation, but id rather not spend 50 when my receiver remote works fine. ill just wait until i need the harmony

Here is a decent one, and I have seen them sell for as little as 30.00 which included shipping. It can control everything you want, plus have room for expansion.

But I agree with above poster, as long as the receiver remote can handle your Tivo box. But if your just looking for something different, then this may be the remote for you. I had one but decided to go all out and get the Pronto TSU3000. I also have a 2133, but have given that to my brother.

What about an MX500? They are $79.99 here (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16880100601) and I would not doubt if you can find them cheaper elsewhere.

I am also assuming that you have went here to see the different remotes.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll watch some of those Kameleon 8's on ebay.
