I am planning on getting a projector and screen system to replace my tube tv. I have heard alot of good things about the Optoma H79. Anyone using this projector? Also anyone seen anything from Screen Research? I am looking at 120" diag. and am curious about the material these people have. It allows you to place the speakers behind the screen with very little sound loss and apparently avoids the problems with a perferated screen. Any comments form experienced users would be appreciated.

I don't know about the screens but the Optoma projectors are pretty good. If they fit your budget you'll be happy.

First the Optoma H79 is a great projector.
As for the screen I can't say as I have never dealt with that brand.
Is there some reason you want the speakers behind the screen?

I have demoed a micro perf screen where the center channel was behind the screen and at the same height as the tweeters of the L and R channels. The voices coming from the center of the screen were more realistic and transitions sounded very smooth. The weave material of the Screen Research seams to be better technology for this set up as there is no problems with the pixels as with the micro perf screens. Audio does not seem to be a problem with Screen Research but has anyobe seen the video quality of this screen?
